Subject: DQ Note from ACHA Referee-In-Chief

-All Coaches and Team officials need to read this and understand their obligations on understanding ACHA and NCAA rules of play.

-When in doubt contact the D2commissioner@achahockey.org

-The following link is to the NCAA Rulebook all coaches should know these playing rules

-The following DQ rules are automatic if posted on a scoresheet or not as it is each teams obligation to know the playing rules to which they are participating.   Any scorekeeper or game official failing to note the dq does not change the fact that a dq is required.  Should a player continue to participate without serving the required DQ each subsequent game is subject to forfeit.

....Please read this note and pass on to your team.
.... excerpt from note
The follow infractions carry a DQ as the ONLY penalty option for the referee.

1-    Spitting (ACHA )
2-    Continued abuse of a game official "including scorekeepers"
3-    Excessive Roughness.
a.     This is interpreted as any act that the referee determined to be an attempt to injure an opponent, team official, or game officials
4-    Fighting/Punching.
5-    Kicking a Player.
6-    Leaving the bench during altercations.
7-    Physical contact with an official 'including scorekeepers".
8-    Progressive game.
a.     This simply means that DQ’s carry a “progressive” structure. A players 1st DQ automatically carries a 1 game suspension, his/her 2nd DQ carries a 2 game suspension, and so on.
9-    Swinging a stick during an altercation.
