This is the general procedure for becoming a USA Hockey
certified official:

1.  USA Hockey registration usually begins on August 1.
Go to the USA Hockey/Mid-Am referee web site and register to
become a referee.

2. Attend a USA hockey seminar.  Check WOHRA.ORG
in August for the seminar that will be held in Dayton. 
The Mid-Am site above will have dates for seminars outside of Dayton.
3. Take the open book test.
4. Attend our monthly meetings.
5. Our scheduler will start getting you into games with
experienced officials.

To become registered an certified to for OHSAA high school games,
follow the procedure at 
http://www.ohsaa.org/officials/permits/default.htm 

OHSAA registration for current officials usually begins on 6/1
and ends on 6/30.

Registration for new officials usually begins on 9/1 and ends on 10/31.
Be advised that once the registration period has ended, you must wait
until the next year.

You should be aware that you will not get scheduled into any high
school games until you have current USA hockey certification.
